Portugal – every European Championship campaign

Portugal – still spearheaded by Cristiano Ronaldo – have a rich history in the European Championship, and are now one of the leading candidates to lift the trophy, having emerged as one of the continent’s standout nations in recent times.

In truth, such a status has not always been bestowed upon the country, even with glittering figures like Eusebio of the past, with it arguably having been the Ronaldo era that has brought out their best over the last 20 years or so.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid icon was at the epicentre of Portugal’s success at Euro 2016, but how does their overall record in the competition look? Here is a list of every European Championship campaign, with a detailed look at the tournaments they qualified for.

Aside from reaching the last four of the World Cup in England in 1966, Portugal had a relatively meagre record of qualifying for tournament football up until the 1980s, with Euro 1984 having been their first taste of the continental competition.

In an event which comprised just eight teams at the time, the debutants finished second in a group containing West Germany, Spain and Romania, drawing their opening two fixtures before securing a late 1-0 win over the latter side to seal progression.

That set up a semi-final showdown with hosts France at the Stade Velodrome, with a Michel Platini-inspired side eventually running out 3-2 winners after 120 minutes, following a thrilling extra-time that produced three goals. So close, yet so far…

30 years on from losing to Sir Alf Ramsey’s eventual champions in ’66, Portugal returned to England in search of another lengthy tournament run, having missed out on the previous two European Championships after failing to qualify.

It all started so well in ’96, with Portugal going unbeaten in the group stage to finish top of the pile, drawing 1-1 with holders Denmark in the opening game, before defeating Turkey and Croatia without conceding a single goal.

Those early heroics set up a quarter-final clash with the Czech Republic for Luis Figo and co, yet it was all to end in heartbreak as Karel Poborsky’s delicious second-half lob sealed a 1-0 win for the eventual finalists.

By the time Euro 2000 came around, Portugal were emerging as major players on the international scene, boasting a dazzling forward line that included the likes of Figo, Rui Costa and Nuno Gomes.

After sweeping a tough-looking group including both England and Germany – current Porto boss Sergio Conceicao scoring a hat-trick against the latter – the winning machine then saw off Turkey to reach the last four, where World champions France lay in wait.

Despite taking an early lead through the prolific Gomes, there was to be yet more semi-final heartbreak, with goals from Thierry Henry and a last-gasp Zinedine Zidane penalty in extra-time sending Les Bleus into the showpiece.

Cue a mass headloss from those of a Portuguese persuasion, with one-time Liverpool man Abel Xavier among a trio to be handed lengthy suspensions by UEFA for confronting the referee following the decisive spot-kick decision. Fiery.

The stage looked set. On home soil – and bolstered by the emergence of a teenage Ronaldo – Portugal’s ‘Golden Generation’ appeared on course to end their long-awaited quest for a major trophy.

The hosts topped the group yet again courtesy of victories over Russia and neighbours Spain, albeit while having intriguingly slipped up in the opening game against an unfancied Greece side – a foreshadowing, perhaps?

Another tournament match-up with England at the quarter-final stage inevitably led to penalty-shootout heartbreak for the Three Lions, before a place in the showpiece was secured after seeing off the Netherlands in normal time.

Facing off against surprise package, Greece, there surely appeared to be only one winner, yet the footballing gods were in a cruel and wicked mood – Angelos Charisteas’ second-half header capping one of the most remarkable upsets of any era.

Once again, Portugal came out on top in a competitive group, albeit with a 2-0 defeat to Switzerland in the final game indicating that it was perhaps not going to go all their own way this time around.

Unfortunately for ‘CR7’ and co, their hopes of avenging their disappointment of four years earlier came to an abrupt halt in the last eight, coming out second best in a 3-2 thriller with eventual runners-up, Germany.

Euro 2012 certainly didn’t get off the best of starts for Ronaldo and co, with Portugal beginning the tournament how they ended the previous one four years earlier – losing to the Germans.

After overcoming a stubborn Denmark side – spearheaded by a certain Nicklas Bendtner, it was the final group game where they truly hit their groove, Ronaldo bagging a brace to see off Holland, before netting the only goal in the last four against the Czech Republic.

The subsequent tense encounter with reigning champions Spain – who were in search of a third major trophy in a row – went all the way to the dreaded penalty shoot-out following a cagey goalless draw.

Ronaldo stood waiting to take what he dreamed of being the ‘glory’ fifth penalty, only to see his side bow out before he could step up himself, with Joao Moutinho and Bruno Alves failing to convert.

At last, Euro 2016 saw Portugal right the wrongs of 2004, going one step further to clinch the trophy in Paris.

Under the watchful eye of manager Fernando Santos, it is fair to say that while still blessed with talent, the side was a far cry from the days of the ‘Golden Generation’, even with the mighty Ronaldo in tow.

After scraping through the group as one of the best third-place sides, it actually took until the semi-final stage for the eventual champions to win a game in normal time, having seen off Wales in the last four.

Facing host nation France in the final, disaster struck as Ronaldo was forced off with injury after 25 minutes, making an already sizeable task even tougher. With the skipper roaring his teammates on from the sidelines, however, up stepped unlikely hero, Eder to seal the win in extra-time. Euphoric.

Five years on from lifting the trophy, Portugal produced a relatively limp defensive of their crown in the belated tournament in 2021, having crashed out in the first knockout round.

The holders had been part of an undoubted ‘Group of Death’ that included both France and Germany, eventually progressing in third place with that man Ronaldo remarkably netting five times in those opening three games.

Any ambitions of retaining their title were swiftly extinguished in the last-16 following a 1-0 defeat to Belgium in Seville, Thorgan Hazard scoring the game’s solitary goal.

It was a tale of two shootouts for Portugal at Euro 2024, as after winning their group as expected, the relief of squeezing past Slovenia in the last 16 was quickly replaced by the despair of being sent home by France in the quarter-final.

Things had started well as a late comeback victory saw off the Czech Republic before some comical Turkey defending gave them a helping hand in their second group game.

With top spot secured, Portugal were able to afford a 2-0 defeat to Georgia, handing their opponents a first win at a major international tournament.

The round of 16 is where the drama really began. Despite Portugal’s perfect performance from the spot in the shootout – with Diogo Costa creating history by saving all three Slovenian spot-kicks – it was a penalty in extra time from Cristiano Ronaldo that made the headlines.

The Al-Nassr forward had the chance to all but win the game for Portugal, but he burst into tears after he was denied by Jan Oblak.

Ronaldo went on to redeem himself in the shootout, but Costa could not repeat his heroics when another goalless draw led to France scoring all their penalty kicks, with João Felix’s miss ultimately sending Portugal home.

Wolves considering 8-figure move to sign £25,000-a-week giant for O’Neil

Wolves are being tipped to splash eight figures on a relegated £25,000-a-week player for manager Gary O'Neil straight away this summer.

Wolves transfer rumours

It has been a mixed 2023/24 Premier League season for Wolves, who looked to be pushing for a European finish early in 2024. However, a major drop in form at the back end of the season saw those hopes ended well before the final day of the campaign. On the plus side, the Midlands outfit managed to secure more points this term than they did in 2022/23.

However, if Wolves are to take another step forward and mount a proper push for European football in the forthcoming campaign, improvements will need to be made to their squad. And while the summer window is not yet open, Wolves are seemingly already quite active on the transfer front.

It was claimed last month that Wolves are showing interest in Red Star Belgrade midfielder, Hwang In-beom, as they look to strengthen their squad this summer. Another report late in April stated that Gary O’Neil’s side have placed €12m (£10.2m) on the table for Fenerbahce right-back Bright Osayi-Samuel.

bright-osayi-samuel-transfer-gossip-leeds-united-49ers-ayling

More recently, meanwhile, Wolves are interested in signing Southampton's Che Adams, who has been central to their Championship promotion push this term. The Wanderers are keen to secure a deal for Athletic Bilbao winger Alex Berenguer, though the player is thought to have offers on the table from a host of Premier League sides.

Manager admits £18,000 per week Wolves target is now "asking" to leave

It could be a perfect opportunity for O’Neil’s side to strike.

ByBen Browning May 15, 2024 Wolves considering 8-figure move to sign £25,000-a-week giant

It is not just at the top end of the pitch where Wolves may need to be active this summer, however. This comes amid reports that clubs in Saudi Arabia are keeping tabs on goalkeeper Jose Sa, with regard to signing him during the summer transfer window. Sa has once again been Wolves' no.1 this term but has kept just four clean sheets in 35 league outings.

As a result, it is not too surprising to see O'Neil's side being linked with a fresh shot-stopper heading into the summer window. According to a report from journalist Alan Nixon on Sunday, following their relegation from the Premier League, Burnley are looking to offload one of Arijanet Muric or James Trafford, with Wolves said to be interested in the former.

Nixon states that the Clarets want £10m for the 6 foot 6 Muric, who is only valued at around £6m by Transfermarkt and currently earns £25,000 per week on a deal that will keep him at Turf Moor until 2026.

Given Sa has an estimated value of around £13m, Muric's reported price-tag of £10m should not be an issue for Wolves if they are looking to replace the Portuguese this summer.

However, while price should not be a problem, there is the question of quality. Muric has made 13 appearances for Burnley across all competitions this season and kept just two clean sheets. Burnley boss Vincent Kompany was quizzed on the 25-year-old's form last month but looked to back the shot-stopper.

“It’s not an issue of talent, a lot of our players have shown in moments that they are really good players, but the consistency of it…you can’t force it. It comes with time," said Kompany after Muric made a mistake during a 1-0 defeat to Everton in April.

“It’s the same with Aro, same with Traffs, same with so many players in our team. It’s the nature of the season we’re in.

“We can either give up or you support them and back them and you get the rewards at some point. That’s what we’ve done this season with many players.”

Será bastante igual, duro e decidido no detalhe.

Aston Villa and Monchi ready to bid £13m to sign new 25 y/o on the cheap

Aston Villa are already enjoying a busy summer before the transfer window has even officially opened, and now more midfield reinforcements could be on their way.

Douglas Luiz wants to leave Aston Villa?

After securing Champions League football for the first time in their history courtesy of a fourth-placed Premier League finish, the Villans and NSWE are keen to add quality to their side to ensure that their only movement next season is forwards rather than back.

They have already agreed on arguably their most important deal, tying manager Unai Emery to a new contract which will keep him in charge until 2029, with the Spaniard having led a major turnaround at Villa Park.

Now, their attentions have turned to on-the-pitch matters. To that end, they have begun strengthening their midfield ranks, with Ross Barkley set to arrive in a £5m deal from relegated Luton Town imminently after a deal was agreed with the former Villa loanee.

Ross Barkley for Luton Town

However, they were rocked by news from Italy claiming that Douglas Luiz has asked to leave the club this summer, despite having two years left to run on his contract with Aston Villa and having just enjoyed his best season to date.

He is reportedly valued at around 60m euros (£51m), and his sale would certainly prove beneficial for financial fair play reasons, which could allow Aston Villa to spend big on the rest of their squad this summer amid links to Conor Gallagher. Now, it appears Monchi is on the hunt for yet another midfielder.

Monchi low-balls for McKennie

That comes in the shape of Juventus man Weston McKennie, who has been touted as a potential option in a swap deal for Luiz in Italy.

However, it appears that Villa could also be keen on doing a straight-up cash transaction for the 25-year-old, whose previous Premier League experience came via a difficult loan spell at Leeds United which ended in their relegation.

Aston Villa lurking for £25m target who's fallen out with his current coach

The midfielder could be returning to the Premier League.

ByTom Coates Jun 3, 2024

The USMNT midfielder is approaching the final year of his £53,000 a week deal in Turin, and is thought to be available for around €25m (£21m) this summer, with Juve not expecting him to renew his contract and a departure seeming 'inevitable' ahead of the new campaign.

That is according to Tuttosport, relayed by Sport Witness, who add that Villa are looking to sign him on the cheap this summer, with Monchi personally driving negotiations. The ex-Sevilla Sporting Director is reportedly 'willing to pay between €12m and €15m (£10m and £13m) for the 25-year-old's signing' on a permanent basis this summer, around half of what Juventus were holding out for.

Despite this, it is added that 'discussions remain open' and that fresh talks are expected in the future, though any deal is likely to be delayed by the Copa America taking place from the middle of June.

Any move for McKennie, on top of a deal for Barkley and a potential move for Gallagher, would likely be contingent on one of Villa's current midfield options moving on, even if it is not in a swap deal. Should Luiz become available, clubs from the Premier League may well be willing to offer Villa a better deal than Juve can put together.

Does BBL face player drain? Larger Australia squads could stretch resources

The challenges created by Covid-19 restrictions are likely to mean far less movement between teams

Andrew McGlashan24-Aug-2020A huge amount remains to be worked out about how the Australian season will come together due to Covid-19 and the associated restrictions, but one aspect that is looking more likely is that enlarged international squads will be needed due to being unable to bring players in and out of biosecure bubbles.Justin Langer, the Australia head coach, said it could be one of several compromises required to keep the season going. The BBL, a tournament that needs its star names, might be particularly heavily impacted with the four-Test series against India set to run concurrently with a big chunk of the competition and players unable to move between international and BBL duty as they would in a normal season. There are also the one-day series against India and New Zealand on the schedule; the former may be moved to the start of the international season but the latter is currently lined up as the BBL is reaching the finals.ALSO READ: Australian team leaves for England series after gathering in PerthDuring their season, England have kept their Test and white-ball squads separate so far – including different coaching staff – although some of the Test players may feature in upcoming matches against Australia once the Pakistan series is finished. The lists for the BBL are yet to be locked in due to a contracting embargo and there has been talk of holding a player draft although that may not be possible this season. However, if we look at each side in terms of how they lined up last season it gives an indication of how the teams could be impacted by Australia call-ups.Adelaide StrikersA Boxing Day Test century against New Zealand last season has cemented Travis Head into Australia’s middle order meaning he will be locked in for the series against India. Alex Carey, who is off contract at the Strikers but expected to re-sign, is the gloveman in the T20I and ODI team. He may also be required as a reserve keeper for the Test side although Matthew Wade could cover that role. Michael Neser was part of every Test squad last season without being able to make his debut and would be a strong candidate to be among pace-bowling back-up.James Pattinson celebrates a wicket•Getty Images

Brisbane HeatWith two half-centuries in eight innings last summer, Joe Burns did not completely secure the opening berth but has the credit for an extended run. Marnus Labuschagne, who is out of contract and yet to establish his T20 career, isn’t going anywhere from the No. 3 position in the Test team and is establishing himself as No.4 in ODIs while James Pattinson, another needing to put pen to paper on a new BBL deal, is the first choice quick behind the big three. When Australia included a second spinner in the squad for the SCG Test against New Zealand they went with Mitchell Swepson and he would have been a frontrunner to join Nathan Lyon on the postponed Bangladesh tour. There would need to be spin cover in an enlarged Test squad, even if two are unlikely to play in the same XI at home. Like Pattinson and Labuschagne, he is currently out of BBL contract.Hobart HurricanesWhile the most vulnerable of the top six, Matthew Wade is established in the Test team and as mentioned above, could be the back-up wicketkeeper. He is also seen as a versatile option in the limited-overs set-up, able to fill any position in the top six if needed. Depending on how many back-up quicks were needed, Riley Meredith, who is on the limited-overs trip to England, could come into the frame. Ben McDermott and D’Arcy Short were both cut from the initial 26-man squad named ahead of the England tour but may remain in contention.Aaron Finch would be needed to captain Australia in white-ball cricket•Getty Images

Melbourne RenegadesAustralia and Renegades captain Aaron Finch would be needed for all limited-overs series. Marcus Harris, who lost his place after the Ashes series, would be a likely contender as a reserve opening batsman for a larger Test squad and Kane Richardson is a regular of the T20I playing XI and part of the ODI squad.Melbourne StarsGlenn Maxwell and Adam Zampa would be all-but certain to be involved in white-ball internationals while Marcus Stoinis is back in the picture having been selected for the England tour. It’s unlikely any of that trio would be in the mix for a Test berth.Perth ScorchersMitchell Marsh is back in ODI and T20I set-up and would be a good chance of being in an enlarged Test squad. Ashton Agar is a regular in both limited-overs teams while AJ Tye is back in the squad for the England tour. Kurtis Patterson could come into the frame as a back-up Test batting option while the hugely talented Cameron Green would push to be considered as an allrounder for the Test squad especially if he starts the season well. Jhye Richardson could also be back in contention if he recovers fully from his winter should surgerySteven Smith plays a reverse sweep•Getty Images

Sydney SixersIt would appear unlikely that the defending champions will see anything of Steve Smith, Nathan Lyon or Josh Hazlewood this season after the trio were able to slot into last season’s campaign between Australia duty. Sean Abbott and Josh Philippe are also both in the limited-overs set-up while Jackson Bird could be an outsider for a larger Test squad.Sydney ThunderUsman Khawaja has not been able to get back into an Australia squad since the Ashes, but he would be a strong option to bolster the top-order batting reserves in a Test squad. Daniel Sams is having his first taste of international cricket on the England tour and Chris Tremain could be in the mix among Test seam-bowling reserves if he makes an impression after his state move to New South Wales. And three more…Pat Cummins made one appearance fpr the Thunder in the 2018-19 season but was unable to squeeze in any BBL appearance last summer. David Warner has not played in the BBL since 2013 and Mitchell Starc since 2014. They are names that the tournament, and the broadcasters, would love to have on show but that looks unlikely to happen this season unless they are released from Australia duty after the Test series against India.

The Trinbago Knight Riders became the first team to go through an entire CPL season undefeated as a momentum-shifting bowling performance from captain Kieron Pollard was followed by a thrilling century partnership between Lendl Simmons and Darren Bravo to take them past the St Lucia Zouks by eight wickets and to a fourth CPL title. From 19 for 2 chasing 155, Simmons and Bravo steadily rebuilt the innings through the remainder of the first half, setting up 96 to get from the final ten overs. The pair then feasted on the wristspin pair of Javelle Glen and Zahir Khan to turn a competitive target into a cakewalk. The Zouks paid the price for not batting out their innings, having been 89 for 2 after 11 overs and seemingly on course for a total in excess of 170. Pollard’s intervention in the 12th over sparked a collapse in which they were bowled out off the first ball of the final over for 154. The Knight Riders showed no mercy by clinching victory with 11 balls to spare as Simmons and Bravo rode a 138-run stand to the championship.Fiery FletcherAndre Fletcher made up for the early loss of Rahkeem Cornwall in the second over by putting his stamp on the final with a scintillating knock. The shot of the innings came off Sikandar Raza’s offspin when Fletcher backed away slightly to carve him over the extra cover rope. Next ball Raza tried to follow him but Fletcher went with the spin on this occasion, cranking him over wide long-on for an even bigger six. Raza then overcorrected too short outside off, resulting in a cut to the backward point boundary for four more.Lendl Simmons goes aerial•Getty Images

Fletcher followed his demolition of Raza with success against Ali Khan. The American quick had his number throughout the summer of 2018, whether at the Global T20 Canada or in the CPL, but the wicketkeeper from Grenada anticipated his lengths and changes of pace well. After flicking him through fine leg for his first boundary, he charged to a pair of full-length balls in the sixth over for two scorching drives through the covers, holding the pose afterwards for full effect.Pollard roars backThe Knight Riders captain disrupted not just Fletcher but the rest of the Zouks middle order. He came into the match with just four wickets in 16 overs bowled sporadically across the tournament but doubled his wickets tally with an inspirational spell. He mixed up his pace regularly, throwing Fletcher’s rhythm off to induce a lofted catch to Darren Bravo at long-off to start the 12th over. A slower ball accounted for Roston Chase holing to long-on off the last ball of the 14th. Mohammad Nabi fell in a similar fashion to Fawad Ahmed’s legspin three balls later before Daren Sammy prodded down the wrong line to Akeal Hosein’s left-arm spin in the 17th.Pollard then rounded off his haul in the 19th over. Javelle mistimed a heave off a slower ball to produce a leading edge to point. The well-set Najibullah Zadran then pulled Pollard to Raza at deep square leg two balls later. Pollard claimed a run-out to end his final over as Kesrick Williams was well short of his ground after colliding with Scott Kuggeleijn trying to come back for a second run to long-off. A yorker from Ali Khan cleaned up Zahir Khan on the first ball of the 20th, bookending his wicket of Cornwall to start the match.Sizzling SimmonsThe opener was arguably at fault for the dismissal of his opening partner Tion Webster after failing to respond to a couple of clear singles at the non-striker’s end when Webster was trying to get off strike facing Chase’s offspin only for Webster to fall to Chase off a skied slog two balls later. Kuggeleijn then exploited that breakthrough with a gem of a back-of-a-length delivery in the following over to claim Tim Seifert and put the Zouks in control. But Simmons kept his composure and after a slow start began to find his rhythm against Williams in the sixth over. A flat drive through mid-on was followed by a flick off his hips and then a cut through backward point for a trio of boundaries. A slog sweep off Nabi produced his first six, over midwicket. When Williams returned in the 12th over, Simmons feasted on him once again, pulling a six just off the fingertips of Nabi over the midwicket rope before cutting through point once more. He brought up his 50 off 31 balls and in the process, overtook Glenn Phillips to become the leading scorer of CPL 2020.Momentum fully shifted in favour of the Knight Riders in the 14th over when Darren Bravo heaved two half-trackers from Glen over midwicket for two sixes. The tag team then took a flying elbow drop off the top rope against Zahir Khan in the 17th. Like Glen, Zahir dropped consistently too short and was clobbered for it. Simmons heaved him over the leg side for four and six to start the over before Bravo went over long-on and midwicket for two more sixes to bring up his 50 off 45 balls and the equation down to a run a ball.Simmons treated Kuggeleijn with as much disdain as he had the spinners, tonking the first ball of the 18th over for six. Two more boundaries followed, leaving two to get entering the 19th. A bottom edge by Bravo off Williams eluded Fletcher to the rope for the winning runs, concluding one of the finest partnerships in CPL history.

Villa leading the race to sign dream £20m Watkins partner

After qualifying for the Champions League last season, Aston Villa knew they'd need to spend to strengthen a fantastic squad, but an urgency to adhere to Premier League profit and sustainability rules has rocked the boat.

Despite playing the role of midfield linchpin last season, Douglas Luiz is closing on a transfer to Juventus as Villa Park fights to balance the books. Samuel Iling-Junior and Weston McKennie are heading the other way but many supporters can't help but feel aggrieved.

Jhon Duran, too, looks likely to be sold, with Chelsea pushing to sign the £40m-rated striker, aged 20. Once PSR has been placated, Unai Emery can turn the transfer cannon toward further targets, with a talented forward already being lined up.

Villa lining up Duran replacement

Aston Villa boast one of the best, multi-angled strikers in the Premier League in Ollie Watkins, but Duran's role as understudy has crucially handed Emery an extra dimension. If he is sold, fine, but landing a talented successor is imperative.

As such, there might be something in reports suggesting Tammy Abraham is on Villa's radar. As per Gazzetta dello Sport – via Sport Witness – the Midlands outfit are one of the suitors eyeing a deal for the English centre-forward, alongside Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.

Tammy Abraham

However, Villan fans will welcome the musical tone that suggests their club is in the driving seat to complete a deal, having been deemed the more likely destination. The 26-year-old is valued at about £20m after spending the lion's share of the 2023/24 campaign out with a knee injury.

Why Tammy Abraham would work for Aston Villa

Why indeed. Abraham started just two times in Serie A last term, shackled to the sidelines as he recovered from a knee injury on the final game of the 2022/23 campaign.

The woes of last year aside, he's enjoyed comparative prolificness throughout his career and played a momentous part in Jose Mourinho's Roma winning the Europa Conference League in his first season after signing from Chelsea in a £34m deal.

As you can see, he's maintained an impressive rate of scoring ever since his blistering loan spell at Aston Villa, once hailed as a "goal machine" by former Manchester City striker Stephen Elliott – with his machine-like marksmanship sending a proud football club back to the highest point of English football.

Now, Villa have reached the summit of the continent, and Abraham, while blighted by injuries last term, has proven himself a worthy star in European competition and could offer the skill set to positively bounce off Watkins'.

Watkins enjoyed quite the campaign, finishing as the Premier League's top playmaker and scoring 27 goals across all competitions to boot. Leicester City defender Conor Coady said that the 28-year-old is a "nightmare to play against", and it's clear to see why, with so many different ways for the Three Lions phenom to inflict damage on his adversaries.

A true partnership could be borne from the imposing, quick-footed focal role of Abraham and the more dynamic and expressive style of play that has seen Watkins rise to a position of power in the Premier League.

Ollie Watkins for Aston Villa

Abraham would find a steady stream of support while returning the favour with regularity – he averaged one key pass per game across his first two Serie A campaigns. Emery, who likes his teams to contain angles in abundance, would relish the chance to welcome such a striker.

For half the projected price that Chelsea will pay to land Duran, this could be quite the bargain for Villa Park.

What Aston Villa’s starting XI could look like after £105m spending spree

Aston Villa will be looking to build on their momentous 23/24 campaign, having qualified for the Champions League.
