Jogando como capitão, Hernanes esteve em campo até os 12 minutos do segundo tempo. Neste tempo, o meia foi o principal jogador da criação ofensiva do time e foi, inclusive, o autor da assistência do primeiro gol, cruzando a bola precisamente em um escanteio para o cabeceio de Bruno Alves.

O meia foi um dos destaques do Tricolor na partida e, como característico, arriscou bons chutes de fora da área e participou bem da marcação na saída de bola do time peruano. No segundo tempo, porém, foi substituído por Galeano e, ao sair de campo, chutou uma garrafa d’água.

Depois da saída de Hernanes, o São Paulo marcou outros dois gols, com Rojas e Vitor Bueno, encerrando a partida em 3 a 0 para o Tricolor.

De volta ao time após se recuperar de lesão, Hernanes busca, agora, ganhar cada vez mais minutos em campo. Dependendo do número de jogos que o meia seja escalado como
titular, será feita a renovação automática de seu contrato.

Atualmente, o meia possui compromisso com o São Paulo até o final da temporada de 2021. Uma das cláusulas do vínculo prevê a renovação automática caso o atleta seja titular em 60% das partidas disputadas pelo clube desde o dia 1º de janeiro até o dia 15 de dezembro.

O cenário, porém, é muito improvável, pois Hernanes precisaria de mais de 50 atuações na temporada (caso o time chegue em todas as finais incluindo o mundial).

Caso a porcentagem seja alcançada, o meia deve informar o São Paulo até o dia 20 de dezembro que deseja seguir no clube.

Apesar da não classificação para a próxima fase, Máximo avaliou de forma positiva as eliminatórias, visto que, devido a pandemia, não houve a possibilidade de realizar amistosos preparatórios para os jogos.

Things are going from bad to worse for Everton off the pitch, and now yet another blow may have come their way according to a new claim this week.

Everton receive new point deduction

This has been one of the most dramatic seasons at Goodison Park in recent memory, but unfortunately for the supporters, it has been mainly for all the wrong reasons. Firstly, Sean Dyche's side have again been battling for their Premier League survival, looking to avoid a first-ever trip to the Championship, but financial issues have made life so much harder for the Blues.

Having been deducted 10 points earlier in the campaign for financial breaches, the amount was reduced to six back in February, acting as a boost, even though it still left them in real trouble in the relegation fight. Some improved results have aided their survival push, including last weekend's 1-0 win at home to Burnley, but now another two-point deduction has come their way.

It means that Dyche's men have dropped down to 16th in the Premier League table, only two points clear of 18th-place Luton Town – the Blues do at least have one game in hand – so there is still a huge amount of work to do in their remaining seven matches.

Another blow comes Everton's way

According to The Times on X, Everton could receive yet another point deduction next season, relating to a "further breach" of financial rules.

"Update: Everton face the possibility of a further points deduction next season after the independent commission dealing with their Profitability and Sustainability case could not decide on whether costs of £6.5 million related to a further breach."

It really is such a grim state of affairs at Everton currently, and fans have every right to feel aggrieved at the almost bizarre randomness with which the punishments have been dished out. To have the threat of a lingering deduction hovering over them in 2024/25 is a huge concern even if they stay up, especially with the move to Bramley Moore Dock happening at the end of next season.

This is without even mentioning the possible takeover of Everton by 777 Partners, which has seemingly gone on forever, with no end currently in sight despite rumours approval is on the way. All fans want is some stability – something that will hopefully come when Farhad Moshiri leaves and new owners are in place – but everything from the financial issues to the takeover situation is making for one of the bleakest periods at Goodison in some time.

Chelsea's hopes of qualifying for Europe for next season were dealt another blow as they were hammered 5-0 by rivals Arsenal at The Emirates on Tuesday night.

One player who must now be sold by Todd Boehly in the summer after his display against Arsenal, and the general standard of his performances this season, is centre-back Benoit Badiashile.

Whilst neither player covered themselves in glory, Badiashile was the worst of the two centre-backs for Chelsea, as Axel Disasi outperformed him.

Firstly, GOAL reporter Tom Maston handed the left-footed defender a dismal match rating of 2/10, citing his 'abysmal' play in possession and slow reactions to close down opposition attackers, whilst Disasi earned a score of 4/10.

Former Manchester United and England star Rio Ferdinand claimed that Arsenal "destroyed" Badiashile in his post-match analysis for TNT Sports.

As you can see in the table above, Disasi was far more reliable in possession, did not make any direct errors that led to shots or goals, and was dominant in physical duels, whilst his defensive partner fell short in those metrics.

Badiashile did not cover himself in glory for either of Havertz's goals, with the ball going in behind him for the first and the defender giving him far too much space to find the corner for the second, and allowed Ben White to drift off the back of him for his first.

Why Todd Boehly must cash in on Benoit Badiashile

Italian giants AC Milan were linked with an interest in the French titan earlier this month, and Boehly must take advantage of any potential suitors and sell him this summer.

The 23-year-old dud, who has been an unused substitute in two of the last three matches, has only been handed nine league starts by Pochettino this season, which does not suggest that the Argentine boss trusts him to play regularly at the back.

He has made one error that led to a shot, one that led to a goal, and given away one penalty in those nine starts – one major error every three starts on average.

Badiashile has been at Chelsea for over a year, since his move from Monaco in January of last year, and is yet to prove that he has what it takes to be a top performer in the Premier League.

Therefore, the 2/10 flop, who was just 'destroyed' by Arsenal, should be brutally sold – if Milan act upon their interest – by Boehly to make way for a, hopefully, higher-quality replacement in the summer transfer window,

Ishant Sharma is unlikely to feature in India’s attack for the second Test against New Zealand in Christchurch, starting tomorrow. ESPNcricinfo has learned that the fast bowler has suffered a recurrence of the ankle injury that he picked up on January 20, during a Ranji Trophy match in Delhi, which had threatened to prevent his participation in the Test series altogether.Umesh Yadav is set to replace Sharma in India’s XI.The flare-up calls to question India’s handling of Sharma’s injury, a grade-three ligament tear. These usually take at least six weeks to heal, but Sharma was back playing a Test match in just over four weeks. India may not have had any reason to doubt his fitness ahead of the first Test in Wellington, however, since he had cleared a fitness test at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru on February 15, and then bowled for at least an hour and 15 minutes at the nets four days later.A jetlagged Sharma was India’s best bowler in the first Test, picking up a five-for in New Zealand’s first innings. He caused problems for New Zealand’s batsmen with his bounce and movement while keeping them on a leash with his discipline, even as his pace-bowling colleagues, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami, endured slightly below-par games.Sharma will be a massive miss for India if he doesn’t feature in Christchurch. Since the start of 2018, he has arguably been their best bowler away from home, taking 53 wickets in 13 Tests while returning the best average (20.00) and strike rate (44.8) of all their main bowlers.Yadav has been a rampant wicket-taking force at home in this period, with 38 wickets in seven Tests at 13.86, but he hasn’t tasted anywhere near the same success away from home, where he’s generally been India’s fourth-choice (or occasionally even fifth-choice) fast bowler. In 17 away Tests, he has 46 wickets at 42.19, as against 30.26 overall, and an economy rate of 4.15.If Sharma doesn’t play in Christchurch, India will miss his control more than any other facet of his bowling.
