Mikel Arteta and Arsenal weren't able to make any additions to their first-team squad during the January transfer window, with the club hamstrung in the market by the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules. The money was available, but Arsenal would have risked exceeding the limit if they'd spent it.

Heading into the summer, though, there are plenty of positions Arteta could look to address. A striker is expected to be high on the wishlist, and they may strengthen their attacking options further with another winger too.

Bukayo Saka has started all but one game this season and Gabriel Martinelli has made the line-up for 19 out of 23, while Leandro Trossard has offered an option both out wide and through the middle. Reiss Nelson, however, hasn't started a single top-flight match this term, and youngster Marquinhos has been recalled from a loan spell at French club Nantes, where he only started one Ligue 1 game.

Beyond that, Arsenal might also try to sign a left-back, and there's a possibility that they pursue multiple options in the centre of midfield too. One of those, it seems, could be Leicester City's Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Dewsbury Hall could be on Arsenal list

Speaking to GiveMeSport, transfer insider Dean Jones shared Arsenal's transfer priorities for this summer. He's learned that the Gunners are considering a new wide man and, as for central targets, he says Dewsbury-Hall could be a candidate.

He said: "Dewsbury-Hall, a player that's creative, definitely somebody that I could see that would be on their radar. I know for a fact that as well as being open to signing a new striker, they also feel like they might need another wide player.

"I think a creator like Dewsbury Hall who can be versatile and who can bring a spark to games. It's not very often these players become available. I don't think he'd be top of Arsenal's list to be honest, but he's certainly somebody that would fit what they're trying to do under Arteta."

Dewsbury-Hall won't come cheap after stunning season

Dewsbury-Hall is enjoying a standout season at Leicester, who are on course to be promoted back to the Premier League at a canter after their relegation last term. With 16 games to go, they sit 11 points clear at the top of the table, albeit having played a game more than Southampton.

INTER COMEÇA COLOCANDO PRESSÃO NO GRÊMIO

Nos primeiros movimentos na Arena, a equipe do Inter parecia não querer deixar o Grêmio à vontade. Com isso, nos minutos iniciais, tentou ficar mais com a posse de bola, trocando passes desde sua defesa até o ataque, porém não conseguindo oferecer nenhum tipo de goleiro ao Brenno.

Por outro lado, aos poucos, o Imortal foi tentando apertar a marcação conseguindo pressionar a saída de bola do rival. Entretanto, Alisson tentou pela primeira vez com uma cabeçada, após cruzamento de Vandersson, mas a bola acabou indo para fora para alívio de Lomba.

IMORTAL FALHA NAS FINALIZAÇÕES

Conseguindo aparecer com mais frequência em seu campo de ataque, a equipe de Renato Gaúcho passou a dar mais trabalho ao marcadores do Colorado. Nas três melhores chances criadas, Alisson, Pinares e Matheus Henrique acabaram parando na barreira montada pelos visitantes, fazendo com que a bola não chegasse ao gol do camisa 12, com o panorama mantendo-se igual até meados dos 35 minutos.

DUELO PRAXEDES x BRENNO

Até os acréscimosdado por Anderson Daronco, a equipe do Inter voltou a ter mais posse de bola. Sendo assim, aos 46 minutos, Maurício encontrou Praxedes em boas condições na frente, porém o chute do camisa 45 parou nas mãos de Brenno que, por sua vez, levou a melhor e conseguiu fazer uma ótima defesa antes do término da etapa.

COMEÇO DE SEGUNDO TEMPO PRATICAMENTE IGUAL AO PRIMEIRO

Na volta dos times para os últimos 45 minutos, tanto Renato, quanto Miguel, optaram por manter os mesmos esquemas iniciais. Com isso, não diferente de como foi na etapa inicial, o Colorado tocava bola em seu campo de defesa na expectativa de armar jogadas ofensivas, porém a única boa chance foi em uma cobrança de Moisés, mas a bola acabou subindo demais.

MIGUEL ÁNGEL RAMÍREZ E RENATO SE AGITAVAM À BEIRA DO CAMPO

No comando de seu primeiro Grenal na carreira, o técnico do Colorado mantinha-se calmo de certa forma. Além de alguns diálogos com o quarto árbitro, Miguel tentava encontrar maneiras de fazer com que seus jogadores conseguissem encontrar o caminho do gol conversando com sua comissão técnica, mudando um pouco seu ataque ao colocar o chileno Palacios no lugar de Patrick.

Por outro lado, se via um Renato tranquilo também. Não muito diferente de como se comporta, o treinador não gostava nada dos erros de seus atletas, o que lhe fez recuar aos suplentes tirando Maicon e Pinares, para colocar Darlan e Ricardinho, respectivamente.

TRICOLOR QUASE TIRA O ZERO DO PLACAR E INTER FAZ NOVAS TROCAS

Com as trocas feitas, a equipe da casa conseguiu chegar com mais ofensividade. Sendo assim, minutos mais tarde, aos 22, Darlan acionou Ferreira na frente, mas o atleta acabou finalizando para fora com muito perigo.

Percebendo a força do adversário, outra vez o comandante da equipe do Beira-Rio voltou a mexer. Em duas trocas, Nonato e Palacios entraram para dar um ânimo extra na frente, tentando causar problemas ao setor defensivo do Grêmio.

POUCOS CARTÕES DISTRIBUÍDOS E ÚLTIMAS APOSTAS DO TREINADORES

Com muito equilíbrio em campo, eram poucos os lances de intensidade por parte dos atletas. Mesmo com um número excessivo de faltas, poucos foram os cartões na partida, fato esse histórico no duelo.

Vendo o tempo passar, os comandantes não gostavam nada da postura em campo. Com isso, por parte do Inter, Heitor e Guerrero entraram em campo, enquanto Lucas Silva, Léo Chú e Léo Pereira entraram no Grêmio.

Southampton survived an almighty scare against Huddersfield Town last time out, three goals in the final ten minutes for Russell Martin's never-say-die Saints allowing his high-flying side to come out on top as 5-3 victors.

Unbeaten in the Championship for 22 games now off the back of these heroics at St. Mary's, Martin will just want the wins to keep coming when his team travels to Bristol City on Tuesday night.

The popular Southampton boss could well have to make a couple of changes here and there to freshen up his troops after such a barnstorming contest on the South Coast, with Sekou Mara potentially coming into the XI after a crucial goal against the Terriers.

Here's what the Saints potential lineup could look like, with two changes in total from the enthralling Huddersfield clash…

1 GK – Gavin Bazunu

Despite shipping three goals against Huddersfield, Southampton's number one goalkeeper in Gavin Bazunu should remain between the sticks for the trip to Ashton Gate.

Keeping a clean sheet in Southampton's last away encounter versus Rotherham United, the former Manchester City goalkeeper will hope he can pick up another one against Bristol City.

2 RB – Kyle Walker-Peters

Likewise, despite being in the back four that leaked three goals at the hands of the Terriers, Kyle Walker-Peters will also remain in Martin's starting XI.

Walker-Peters was lively in the contest regardless of the weak defensive display at points as a collective, amassing 108 touches of the ball as an energetic attacking presence.

3 CB – Taylor Harwood-Bellis

Taylor Harwood-Bellis will also stick it out at the heart of defence against Liam Manning's Robins, accumulating 104 touches last game in total as the Saints attempted to create from deep to outscore Huddersfield.

The Manchester City loanee might be disappointed with the fact he only managed to win 50% of his duels against the Terriers, the 22-year-old hoping to put in a more resilient display in truth versus Bristol City that sees a win and a clean sheet notched up.

4 CB – Jan Bednarek

Jan Bednarek would come away from the full-throttle contest against Huddersfield with his head held somewhat high, winning all but one of his aerial duels at St. Mary's.

Therefore, the reliable Polish defender should be retained by Martin for the clash at Bristol City – the Southampton number 35 helping his side pick up eight clean sheets this campaign when played away from the floodgates opening last game.

5 LB – Ryan Manning

An unchanged defence could well be a brave call by Martin after his side conceded three rapid fire goals last game, but Ryan Manning could start again as Southampton's first-choice left-back tomorrow night.

Managing two key passes from down the left-hand side against Huddersfield, the Saints will just want Manning to be stronger when Bristol City shirts foray forward.

6 CM – Will Smallbone

Will Smallbone will also be kept in the side for the trip to Ashton Gate tomorrow night, the former Stoke City loanee becoming a fixed first-teamer under Martin this campaign.

The Saints number 16 was measured on the ball even when the contest was frenetic, only misplacing three of his 84 passes. Creating one big chance and constantly receiving the ball also, Smallbone will hope he can pick up an assist against Bristol City on the way to his promotion-seeking side registering another win in the second tier.

7 CM – Joe Rothwell

The first change to the side that pulled off an unbelievable comeback win against Huddersfield could see Flynn Downes miss out, the West Ham United loanee ruled out for the mid-week clash at Bristol City owing to an injury concern.

This is undoubtedly a blow for the promotion-chasing Saints, with Martin very fond of the slick central midfielder – the Southampton boss once describing Downes as "incredible" when the pair were together at Swansea City.

Joe Rothwell should be able to fill in for Downes to soften this injury blow however, the AFC Bournemouth loanee netting a brace from off the bench last game – which included an unbelievable first-time strike rippling the back of the net – to set Southampton on their way to pulling off the unthinkable.

Only misplacing one pass too from a very impactful 57 minutes on the pitch, it's a no-brainer to bring Rothwell in for an injury-stricken Downes.

8 CM – Stuart Armstrong

Rothwell wasn't the only midfielder attempting to turn the game on its head however, with Stuart Armstrong attempting three shots on goal during the contest to steer Southampton to three points when defeat loomed.

The Scottish midfielder did get hauled off on the 71st-minute mark, but he should still be retained to feature alongside Rothwell and Smallbone.

9 RW – Adam Armstrong

Adam Armstrong will be retained at the right wing spot most likely for the trip to Liam Manning's side tomorrow, even with Che Adams on the chopping block as the main striker and Armstrong's expertise in the striker role.

Adams struggled throughout a lacklustre 45-minute spell, substituted off at the break owing to a slight knock as was revealed by Martin post-match.

Still, with Martin having another player up his sleeve who could come in and shine as the centre-forward, Armstrong will remain as a winger for this one.

10 ST – Sekou Mara

The second possible change could see Martin give Sekou Mara an opportunity to shine from the get-go as the lone striker, with the exciting 21-year-old attacker scoring and assisting at St. Mary's last time out from just 11 minutes on the pitch.

Without Mara, the game could well have finished as a 3-3 draw with both teams huffing and puffing but no winner coming up trumps.

Yet, the ex-Bordeaux youngster's drive to come on and be a difference-maker paid off which could see him rewarded with a place in Martin's starting eleven tomorrow night.

وقال عبد الحفيظ في تصريحات عبر قناة “mbc masr 2”: “وجهة نظري التي من الوارد أن يتفق أو يختلف أحد عليها، أن لكل مجتمع فكره وأسلوبه الذي ينجح به، ليس من المفترض أن كل شيء في المجتمع الأوروبي نُقلده تقليدًا أعمى، ونحن لسنا على دراية كاملة بظروفه، مثال على ذلك يقولون لا يوجد مدير للكرة في أوروبا (والغريبة أن الكلام ده يخرج من إعلاميين كبار، يعني هو في إعلام بيقعد لحد الساعة 3 بره)”.

وتابع: “هناك من ينجح بثقافته وأسلوبه، الأهلي أحد أسباب نجاحه هو الغموض، البعض يُطالب بالشفافية دائمًا، بالفعل لا بد أن يرد في الأمور التي تمس السمعة أو التاريخ، هذه ثقافة معينة تربى عليها أجيال من الناحية الإدارية”.

وأضاف: “منصب مدير الكرة ضرورة مُلحة في النادي الأهلي، الآن يتواجد الكابتن محمد رمضان مديرًا رياضيًا، وهذا قرار في منتهى الروعة، وأعرف أن عمله سيكون رائعًا، وإن شاء الله الأمور ستستقر معه، وبعد ذلك بـ 3 أشهر، أتمنى يتم تعيين مساعدًا له، لكي يتم إعداد كوادر جديدة، بدلًا من المطالبة بعودتي كل فترة، سيد عبد الحفيظ مرحلة ممكن يعود في وقت آخر في منصب آخر”.

وأردف: “أنا أتحدث لمصلحة النادي، عندما تستقر الأمور لا بد من إعداد كوادر، يجب أن يكون هناك مساعد للكابتن محمد رمضان يتعلم منه العمل، ويكون كادر جديد، هنا سيتحقق النجاح”.

واختتم: “أما ما يتعلق بموافقة المدير الفني من عدمها، فإن المدير الفني مساحته فقط هي المستطيل الأخضر، لكن أن يكون معه كل المفاتيح.. (ليه إن شاء الله)”.

The ECB is set to confirm a window for The Hundred which will allow England’s best-known players to participate in the first few games of the tournament next summer.A 13-day window in England’s international schedule will enable some England stars to participate early in the tournament, giving it a better chance to attract public interest. Several games in the tournament will be shown free-to-air on the BBC.The first match in the competition will be played on Friday July 17 (the day after England play Australia in an ODI) with two games on each of the following days. The final will be held on August 15, with a reserve day in case of rain. England players are also expected to be made available for the final.The new format could have implications on the legislation that allows foreign players to participate in it, with the ECB having second thoughts over a request to the Home Office to change the eligibility for work permit criteria specifically for the competition. The ECB have now asked the Home Office to grant work permits for all competitions if players have “played 20 ICC Full Member country domestic T20 matches between October 2017 – September 2019 (appearances are aggregated across all ICC Full Member T20 competitions)”, in addition to the existing criteria which relate to international appearances. The Home Office have yet to confirm that criterion but are highly likely to do so.The ECB has also relented on a previous decision to bar cricketers unqualified for England from next season’s 50-over competition. While they had said previously the tournament should be viewed as a “development competition” – with no overseas players eligible to participate – they have subsequently had a change of heart on the grounds that the standard of the competition, which is taking place at the same time as The Hundred, could be diluted beyond an acceptable level. As a consequence, one unqualified player will be allowed per team, per game.In recognition of the crowded schedule and the time required to register players, counties will be permitted to increase the number of overseas players registered at any particular time from the start of next year. It will not affect the number permitted to play in each game – which will remain two in T20 and one in the Championship – but next season counties will be allowed to have three overseas players registered at any one time in recognition of the crowded schedule and the time required to register players.In a new look to the English season, the first Test of the summer of 2020 will start on June 4, with the final one starting on August 20. The schedule will also see a return to more T20 Blast games taking place on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays – the counties’ favoured days for the tournament – with 105 of the 126 fixtures played on those days. The first round of Championship cricket will start on April 13; the final round is scheduled to finish on September 30.The ECB are expected to announce in the coming weeks that there will be limited-overs games between the National Counties – the new name for the Minor Counties – and the first-class counties ahead of the 50-over competition that starts in mid-July, though games between counties and university centres are to have their status downgraded.

In the rained-out first ODI in Guyana, Chris Gayle played the slowest innings [when he has faced at least 25 balls] of his career, scoring 4 off 31 balls.This was perhaps an extreme case of it, but West Indies captain Jason Holder has said his batsmen would be looking to start their innings cautiously through the ODI series.”I think in the past we have let ourselves down in having a foundation,” Holder said on the eve of the second ODI in Trinidad. “It’s just a matter for us to take a few balls at first and get ourselves set and then we take it as the innings goes on.”The second ODI on Sunday – if he features – will be Gayle’s 300th – he will be the first West Indian cricketer to reach the landmark. “Three hundred games is a lot of games,” Holder said. “Some of us in the dressing room can’t even imagine that. We just hope he can get us off to a really good start tomorrow.”West Indies had a chance to look at the pitch at Queen’s Park Oval before rain forced the covers to come on, and Holder hoped for good batting conditions.”It’s normally pretty humid,” he said. “The wicket is a decent one, hopefully the rain stays away and it doesn’t get too soggy. The pitch normally is a very good pitch here. The conditions should be really good tomorrow. We’ve got to see how the pitch plays, but ideally in one-day cricket, 300 runs is the benchmark. We’ll see how it all plays out tomorrow.”While Gayle endured a struggle in Guyana, his opening partner Evin Lewis showed encouraging signs of a return to form, scoring an unbeaten 40 off 36 balls before showers forced the players off the field.”Definitely happy to see Evin get some time in the middle,” Holder said. “He didn’t get the runs he was looking for in the T20 format but it’s good to see him get into form in Guyana and hopefully he can transfer that performance here as well.”India’s batting line-up is among the best in the world, but Holder was confident West Indies had the bowling to challenge it. “We got to put pressure [on the batsmen] and try to get as deep into their batting line-up [as possible],” he said. “The wickets nowadays are very good for batting. It tends to play a little bit more in the batsmen’s favour, [but] we’ve been doing a really good job, especially in the World Cup I thought our bowlers did a great job, and [we’ll look to] just continue from there and just try to be consistent.”
